On Monday the 28th of May last, 3rd – 6th classes went on a hike to Djouce Mountain. It was one of the toughest hikes the school has completed and fortunately we all made it home alive!
Earlier this month Senior Infants entered the Tesco/Daily Mail European Championship 2012 Art competition…. and we are very happy to announce that we are prize winners!!!! The competition was open to everyone aged 4-16 years so we are very proud of our class for receiving a prize. Damien was also an overall winner so well done to him! A big thanks to Tesco Sandymount for our prizes!
Ms Byrne and Ms Murray completed the annual Dublin Docklands Fun Run on tuesday evening, The money raised from the run is donated to Barnardos and also donated to local schools in the area including St Patricks BNS.
Sports Day will take place in Irishtown stadium from 10am to 12pm on Friday May 25th this year. Please come along to enjoy a fun day for all the family.
Soccer: Semi-final V St. Dominic’s, Tallaght on Friday May 18th.
Cricket: 3rd and 4th class have started cricket training with an expert coach from Australia.
Rugby: 5th and 6th are now learning the basics of Rugby Union with a coach from Leinster Rugby.
This week we are having fun for our Numeracy Week! The theme this week is shape, space and size! The boy’s have enjoyed playing lots of games and talking/recognising different shapes etc. The NEYAI very kindly provided us with lots of fun resources!
Scott : We learned about bikes. Always wear your helmet. Kian gave me a hug.
Joshua: We talked about memories today – funny ones, school ones and sad ones. I wrote about a school memory when I was playing football.
Conor: We talked about the different parts of bikes – the handlebars, the wheels and the brakes.
Congratulations to 2nd class pupil Oisin Coleman and his older brother ‘Tadge’ on returning from the Kenpo Karate World Championships in Utrecht, Holland with gold medals.
