Jack, Seán and Joe have been hard at work for the last week or so writing, editing and finally publishing their own novels, complete with illustrations by Klaudiusz and Darragh. The novels are divided into chapters and the boys are very proud of themselves after producing such great stories. They are very grateful to their teacher, Mary, for helping them put their books together.
The boys and girls from 3rd and 4th classes in the boys’ and girls’ schools had a fun afternoon trying different sports under instruction from some of their classmates. The idea was for the boys and girls to try out sports they would feel less comfortable playing due to their gender. The day was a great success and everyone gave their all. Thanks to Ms Walsh for planning the event and Mr Lehmann for helping organise things.
Monday was drumming day in the school and every class got to participate in a percussion workshop with our two guest drumming experts. It was a loud but great day. The boys loved it!
Mr O’Rourke’s class had a brilliant day out on his farm in Tipperary last week. The boys were welcomed by Tom, Terri and family and had a fantastic day experiencing rural life. The boys got to visit an old farmhouse and see old artefacts, paint with potatoes, build walls, run through meadows, do an assault course with bales of hay and straw, ride in a trailer, feed hens, pet calves, lambs and ponies, hammer nails, play football, ride in a horse and trap, drive go-karts and make butter. What a busy day!
Then they were treated to a delicious dinner of shepherd’s pie or bangers and mash. Thank you so much to Mr O’Rourke and his family for their wonder ful kindness.
