Soccer Final

We lost 3-1 to a very strong Scoil Chiarain team from Donnycarney in Irishtown stadium in the city final on Wednesday June 24th. Missing our top striker, Glenn, it was always going to be a difficult task but the players displayed great courage, heart and skill and made it very tough for their opponents. Jonathon Egan led by example throughout and we battled back to equalise an opening goal by our opponents early in the second half. Unfortunately for us they scored again quickly and as we did our best to peg them back they hit us on the break to score a third and kill off the game. It was an outstanding effort by our lads though who battled to the end.[slideshow id=16] Thanks to Gera for the photos.  A big thank you to our supporters, the staff of Irishtown Stadium, the referee Paul Tuite and the  linesmen.
