Visit to Ringsend Library

We were lucky to have Gerard Siggins, author of the Rugby Spirit book series visit Ringsend Library. The boys were invited to listen to Gerard talk about his inspiration when it comes to writing books, how he goes about starting a story and the pleasure that all the hard work gives him. There were plenty of questions from the boys and they were given a great insight into what it takes to become a published author.

The boys in 5th and 6th Class have been taking part in Marathon Kids. Over the space of 8 weeks, they will have run a total of 42km, a full marathon. Exercise is key for both our physical and mental health and the boys are really feeling the benefits of taking part in their daily runs.

This week, Irish Olympian and former European Gold Medalist David Gillick came by to see how the boys were getting on. He was very impressed by what he saw and was delighted to see how much work has been done.

Well done lads.

Norma Foley visited our school recently to present our teachers with Kinia Credentials for completing training in digital learning. She also visited a Be Internet Legends workshop in the school hall featuring children from schools in the locality.

We were delighted to welcome Minister Foley and she very kindly gave the children homework passes. it was great to have the opportunity to discuss the various challenges facing us at the moment in terms of recruiting teachers in the midst of a cost of living and housing crisis, finding substitutes and the usual funding issues.
