Communion Mass

The boys from 2nd class made their First Holy Communion (Sacrament of Eucharist) on Saturday, May 13th in Ringsend church. It was a wonderful day for the boys and their families. Well done to Sarah and Neasa for preparing them so well for the day.

As part of our Creative Schools project, artist Heather Gray and a team of volunteers made up of Sandra, Gary, some students from Ringsend College and some of our 6th class pupils, are painting a mural on the rear wall of the school based on some artwork designed by last year’s 6th class around the Poolbeg chimney stacks. Here are the boys hard at work.

Monopoly

Ms Purcell and Ms Brennan’s classes are learning about number, money and property (and possibly greed!) in  fun Monopoly sessions with their parents. The boys have loved having their parents and grandparents come in to play the games with them.

Hikes

Our 4th and 5th classes went on a hike around Ticknock last week and 6th class climbed to Prince William’s Seat the previous week. 6th class were bathed in brilliant sunshine and enjoyed amazing views of Dublin, Wicklow and beyond. 4th and 5th were shrouded in a thick mist and could barely see the path beneath them! Both groups had a fantastic time and both hikes will live long in the memory.

We have a long tradition of hiking in the school and it is always one of the best days of the year when a class gets to go on a hike. Apart from the fun and exercise involved in hiking, the boys learn so much about nature, geography and history on these special days out in the wild.

Santa Visits First Class

First Class had a very special visitor on Thursday December 8th. Santa visited to bring the boys some very special presents and had a message for all the boys in the class. He asked if ‘All of the boys could continue to be the wonderful boys we see every day and to help their families on the run up to Christmas.” We are so proud of our amazing students and wish each and every one of them and their families a Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.
