[slideshow id=78]Luke and Lee from 1st class headed down to Custom House Quay along with Lukes Mum Olivia and two girls from the girls school. They boarded the Jeanie Johnston where they met Chantelle the Mermaid, cousin to Ariel and the captain of the ship – Keith Duffy!! They got to wear sailor costumes and pose for photographs to launch the Tall Ships Race which takes place from August 23rd to 26th. The boys also got to visit Jurys afterwards for some crisps and chocolate. It is hard work being sailors for the day!

5-a-side Tournament
Our 5-a-side team (plus 3 subs.) took part in a 34 team competition in Irishtown on Wednesday May 2nd. We topped our group by winning our 4 games. We were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by the eventual winners Quarryvale. We gave them their toughest game of the day. Well played Kuba, Aaron, Aaron, Adam, Ceilim, Jake, Dylan and Igor. Most teams competing fielded only 6th class players so we did really well considering we had players from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in our squad of 8.
Here they are after topping our group:
